It provides educational professionals with the knowledge and information that can assist them in contributing to the critical analysis and the implementation of intercultural education.

Topics covered include: terminological issues, education and multicultural society today, intercultural communication, human rights and anti-racist education, pluralism and diversity in a democratic frame work, pluralism in post-communist and in post-colonial countries, migration and indigenous minority issues, refugee issues, language policy issues, curriculum and classroom organisation, and school development.

Recent Special Issues:

  • SIRIUS. Guest Editors: Tom Tudjman and Michalis Kakos
    In the upcoming Special Issue, we focus on the SIRIUS network’s work on education and migration. This edition highlights past and ongoing research by network members, addressing key challenges and solutions in the field.   • Complex Instruction in Heterogeneous Schools: Building Equitable, Excellent, and Democratic Classrooms. Guest Editors: Simone Plöger, Isabella Pescarmona, George C. Bunch, and Rachel A. Lotan
    The articles in this special issue emerged from a recent international conference entitled  ‘Complex Instruction Research and Practice: Working together for equity in diverse classrooms,’ held in September 2023 at the University of Hamburg, Germany. Researchers from various countries exchange insights on Complex Instruction (CI), a pedagogical approach to foster equity and participation in diverse classrooms. More details are available HERE
