JOIN US ON OUR WALKING TOUR: Stumbling through Chemnitz from stone to stone - Following the traces of Jewish life and resistance during National Socialism

photo by: Chemnitz UniversityOn our tour through Chemnitz city center, we will visit various stumbling stones (Stolpersteine). These small memorial stones are spread all over Germany and many other countries with the aim to remember the people killed during Holocaust. We will commemorate the lives of Jewish families who were deported as well as people who resisted National Socialism and were also persecuted and murdered for their activism. Let’s discuss what we can learn from the past and establish a connection to our present day so that we never forget the lessons of the Holocaust.

A guided excursion to Königstein Fortress
on March 29, 2024

Königstein Fortress is located in the middle of Saxon Switzerland, 247 metres above the Elbe. In the almost 800 years since it was first mentioned, it has been the setting for many stories, but has never been conquered. The fortress is surrounded by the beautiful table mountains of the region and offers fantastic 360-degree panoramas.
During the guided tour we explore the fortress and some exclusive hidden places. We take a tour of the fortress grounds and look back on 800 years of life on the "King's Stone" and learn about the origins and significance of the individual buildings on the fortress. You will receive information about the individual exhibitions.
Please feel free to express your interests and we are happy to customize the tour for you.
