Agostino Portera, Ph.D. is is full professor of intercultural education, head of the Centre for Intercultural Studies in the University of Verona (Italy). He received his PhD at the University of Freiburg (Germany) and was a visiting professor at the Universities of Würzburg, London, and OISE Toronto. His scholarly work is in the field of immigration, identity, intercultural education and competence; is a member of the board of the International Association for Intercultural Education (IAIE), collaborates with many journals and is a member of the editorial board of Intercultural education, (Carfax Publishing, London).
