Camilla Pagani's latest book, Diversity and Complexity, addresses the issue of our relationships with diversity within a theoretical framework. It considers not only the psycho-social perspective but also, and pre-eminently, that of complexity science, proposing a broad definition of diversity.

This work focuses on cross-cultural relations among young people with themes of racism and empathy throughout. The analysis draws on considerable data obtained by the author and her research group in her study of attitudes towards multiculturalism among children and adolescents. A chapter devoted to relationships with animals considers interspecies diversity.

Pagiani’s view is that this complexity is an intrinsic part of our reality and must be seen through this lens.
