Last January, IAIE member Micheline Rey was invited to speak at Ewha University in Séoul, Korea, at the International Intercultural Conference. Her presentation (in French), was entitled “Regard sur l’histoire de l’éducation interculturelle au Conseil de l’Europe”, or “A look at the history of intercultural education at the Council of Europe”.

Micheline’s presentation focused on the history of Intercultural Education in the Council of Europe. She explained that humans have always been migrants throughout history; from one village or one continent to another, there have always been encounters and reciprocal adjustments. Rey illustrated this point within the European context, observing that the origin of the European culture as related to Asia and Africa.
